Launching an online training platform in 2025
Since 2016 we have been boots on the ground - or deck - training the next generation of maritime missionaries.
Seeing an opportunity to expand the reach of this training, we are creating an online training program to bring greater multiplication of maritime missionaries, proficient in safety and seamanship skills, to serve a board medical mission vessels.
This three-year project aims to equip maritime missionaries with essential training through a flexible, self-paced online platform.
The inclusion of live video instruction and one-on-one chat support ensures trainees receive personalized guidance when needed.
Monthly donations sustain our ongoing work, while one-time gifts enable us to develop and launch the platform.
Our goal is to complete the first training module by the end of 2025, with additional modules following annually.

| Matthew and Sherry Baumgardner Founders of MAST Global Matthew is from Oregon, USA and joined his first maritime ministry deployment to Mexico in 1987. He holds his United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariners credentials and has a passion to train the next generation who desire to serve in ship ministry. He has served on board multiple ministry vessels in many nations. Sherry is from the UK and her journey into full-time ministry began in 1997 after a trip to Madagascar. She met Matthew while working on board a ministry vessel that served in Central America. Serving MAST Global through programs support, she holds her MA in Intercultural Ministry Leadership, with a vision for missions strategy coaching. They have six children, aged 24 to 14, and live in Texas, USA. Their fourth son Dominic recently went to his eternal home, at the age of 17. |
