Interested in Training? We're Ready to Help!
Mast Global provides maritime training and offers advice about your next step whether that is STCW Basic Training, Maritime Safety & Seamanship, Maritime / Ships DTS
or an Able Seafarer Practicum.

Each training opportunity offers theoretical, practical, and hands-on learning to equip you for service aboard any maritime ministry vessel!
One Week Training
STCW Basic Training (BT)
This training is a legal requirement to serve on vessels world wide and is intended to ensure that seafarers are aware of the hazards of working on a vessel and can respond appropriately in an emergency. The course includes: basic fire fighting, elementary first aid, personal survival techniques, and personal safety and social responsibility.
Four Week Training
Maritime Safety & Seamanship (MSS)
This training provides you with the basic knowledge and practical experience for becoming a quality deckhand on-board any ship, and is a step towards becoming a certified Able Seafarer. The course includes: vessel familiarization, basic sailing theory, safety, deck work, practical sea-going service, and more.

The MSS is also offered as the first module of the School of Navigation and Seamanship (SONS).
Five or Six Month Training
Maritime Track DTS

Each week of the three month lecture phase teaches the information, techniques and skills the student will need in order to be an effective part of any ships compliment . The basic working knowledge of any ship will put the student in good stead for further advanced training.

The following two or three month outreach provides the opportunity for practical application on board a ministry vessel.
Twelve Week Training
Able Seafarer Practicum
This training is a time where you can accrue much needed sea-time for further certifications, as well as to serve the local outreach of the ministry vessel and gain as much experience as you can.

^The Able Seafarers Practicum correlates with the Maritime Studies Practicum offered by the University of the Nations Maritime Academy.
"A shortage of technically trained crew to support the operational needs of ministry vessels continues to be commonplace. By training proficient mariners, the vessels will continue to provide essential services and increase in their reach globally."

Matthew Baumgardner
Seamanship & Safety Training Instructor
